At yesterday's service, Thursday, 14 of August, at ICEC in Espinho, we had the privilege of welcoming pastor Hildeberto Junior and his wife Christiane, whose presence and ministry were a source of great joy for our community.

The celebration began with a deep time of praise and worship, in which, joined, we give glory to the Lord. There was also time to intercede together, praying for the nations, on different themes that we usually present before God, and also for each other, strengthening faith and mutual encouragement.

The moment of the ministration of the Word was particularly remarkable. The pastor took us on a true journey through the first chapters of the book of Acts, recapitulating the birth of the Church and its rapid growth. Underlined the importance of solid teaching, of home meetings and discipleship as foundations for the expansion of the Gospel.

He also reminded us that, even in the face of persecution, The early Church was not intimidated, because it was a community filled with the Holy Spirit, obedient to the will of the Lord, as per Acts 4:31: “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and boldly proclaimed the word of God.”.

Our guest, which currently leads more than 500 churches, shared with us encouraging words and impactful testimonies of boldness and courage, inspiring us to live with the same dedication and intrepidity as the first disciples, remembering Jesus' order: “You will receive power, when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses.” (Atos 1:8).

He concluded by challenging us to live today like the Church in “Acts 29” — continuing the work that began then and applying the power of God in our lives and around us.. May we, like this, be faithful instruments in the hands of the Lord for the transformation of the world around us.
